Adebayo, from Edgewood, Maryland is a very thoughtful, kind, and mature 11-year-old who refuses to let his battle with Sickle Cell disease keep him down. It is no surprise that when he found out the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid-Atlantic would grant him a wish, he did not take the opportunity lightly. He did some research and thought long and hard about what he would wish for. After weighing all the options possible, Adebayo decided he wanted nothing more than to go on a Royal Caribbean Cruise with his family!

On the cruise, Adebayo got to spend time with his family participating in fun kid activities, enjoying warm weather, and exploring the pools and beaches! He also had many opportunities for adventure like blasting down water slides, going zip lining, and even hanging-ten on a surfing simulator! The surfing simulator was by far Adebayo favorite activity and the instructor was generous enough to give him his own private lesson! By the end of his lesson Adebayo was a pro and could successfully stand up on the board all by himself! Between adventures he had plenty of time to relax, read and soak up the sun on the beautiful beaches he visited.

Adebayo said that he “had the time of his life” during his Caribbean Cruise adventure. Together the whole family enjoyed magical days of fun and relaxation far away from the stress of medical treatments and doctor visits. His mother said that “the trip was mind-blowing and far exceeded anything they could have imagined”. It’s safe to say that Adebayo chose his perfect wish, and that he and his family will have memories that will last a lifetime!
