Since March of 2016 14-year-old Will Cody has been in and out of the hospital fighting Leukemia through three different surgeries and chemotherapy. While his battle has certainly been a trying time for him and his family, Will recently found himself in the midst of a positive life-changing experience when he became a member of the Washington Capitals over the weekend.

Capitals treat Make-A-Wish recipient to the ultimate hockey weekend

The Washington Capitals hosted the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday afternoon and they had a new face on their roster when the starting lineups were announced before the game. 14-year-old Washington Capitals fan William Cody is currently battling leukemia and he got to return to the ice for the first time in two years thanks to the Washington Capitals and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Before the puck dropped against the Montreal Canadiens on Friday evening, the dreams of one 14-year-old Caps fan were realized. Partnering with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, the Capitals signed cancer patient William Cody to a three-day contract. Cody’s wish was to become a Capitals player for a day.

Tuesday morning, the Capitals announced that they will host their second annual TopGolf charity event, Wish Upon a Par on February 7 at TopGolf Loudoun. You can now bid to play with one of eighteen different Caps players, who will spend the day eating and golfing with you and four of your closest friends.

Little Ember Murdock is battling cystic fibrosis, which is a life-threatening disease that impacts the lungs and digestive system. While Ember has CF, it would be hard to tell by his adventurous spirit and contagious energy.
