Wishes Mean the World!
Share The Power Of A Wish® with local
children on April 29th, 2012!

What is World Wish Day®?
World Wish Day is a global celebration of wish granting. World Wish Day celebrates the day that the first wish sparked a global wish-granting movement and has enabled more than 250,000 children around the world to have their heartfelt wishes granted by Make-A-Wish®. Every 40 minutes, Make-A-Wish grants the wish of a child with a life-threatening medical condition somewhere in the world. Locally, Make-A-Wish Mid- Atlantic has granted more than 7,000 wishes since 1983.

Who can get involved?
Everyone! We can all support World Wish Day and participate in a global effort by making a local impact. Monies raised will help grant Mid-Atlantic children’s wishes, which are only limited by their imaginations.
Why should I get involved? A child’s wish experience transcends culture and geography by unifying people worldwide around the common cause of bringing hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. The average cost of a wish in the Mid-Atlantic region is $7,500; however, $13,700 is the approximate cost for international travel wishes.
When and where will World Wish Day happen? World Wish Day will take place on Sunday, April 29, 2012 throughout the United States and in 35 countries where Make-A-Wish Foundation International affiliates are located. In the Mid-Atlantic region of Delaware, Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, we will be raising vital funds and awareness through various marketing and media efforts during the entire month of April, culminating with the international celebration on World Wish Day.
