The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid-Atlantic is proud to partner with the companies who generously support our National Alliance program. In addition, the following select National Alliance sponsors have maximized their partnership locally to support the wishes of children in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Macy’s
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a national beneficiary for the 2010 Macy’s Thanks for Sharing program, along with the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). When Macy’s began the Thanks for Sharing program in 2003, both Macy’s East and Macy’s Northwest selected the Make-A-Wish Foundation as a beneficiary; since 2003, additional Macy’s divisions chose to support the Foundation. In 2009, $8.25 million was raised for the Foundation.
Macy’s also supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation through its annual Believe campaign and by helping to enhance fashion and shopping wishes through makeover, personal shoppers, and other unique in-store experiences. Macy’s raised $9.25 million for the Foundation in 2009 and over $33 million since our relationship began.
In 2009, our local Macy’s locations raised more than $410,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic. For more information, including store locations and upcoming campaign dates, please be sure to check our Shop to Help page.
UnitedHealth Care Group
UnitedHealth Care Group (UHC) has pledged $1.5 million annually to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America through 2010. As part of the three-year, $4.5 million partnership, the UnitedHealth Group Wishes program has been established to enable the company to
grant wishes through the Foundation’s 64 chapters nationwide. UHC employees are also encouraged to make a positive difference in their communities by contributing their time and talents to the Foundation.

Discover Financial
Since 1989, Discover® Financial Services and its cardmembers have generously donated nearly $16 million to the Make-A-Wish Foundation through the Cashback Bonus® Program. Cardmembers can earn up to 5 percent Cashback Bonus award by using their Discover Card for qualified purchases. If you’re a Discover Cardmember, you can contribute your Cashback Bonus award to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and help fulfill the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Learning Care Group
Headquartered in Novi, Michigan, Learning Care Group, Inc provides early education and care services to children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years of age under its umbrella of brands: The Children’s Courtyard, Childtime Learning Centers, La Petite Academy, Montessori Unlimited and Tutor Time Child Care / Learning Centers. Between these five brands, Learning Care Group has more than 1,100 schools (corporate and franchise) with a system-wide capacity to serve close to 163,000 children in the U.S. and internationally.
To date Learning Care Group brands have contributed over $6.4 million to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation bring hope, strength and joy to children across the country.

Creative Memories
In 2009, Creative Memories became a national sponsor for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, setting out to raise awareness and funding for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, while promoting Creative Memories, its mission, recruiting and sales growth. They developed a line of traditional and digital scrapbook products, known as Wishes & Dreams, which was inspired by the Make-A-Wish Foundation and our wish families.
The new Creative Memories Wish Collection is available through the Creative Memories website and catalogs beginning March 1, 2011. These products include traditional and digital scrapbook products. For every Wish product purchased, Creative Memories will donate between $1 and $2 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. To date, with your help, Creative Memories has raised more than $600,000 in North America to help make wishes comes true. For more details, visit www.creativememories.com.
World Wrestling Entertainment
For more than 20 years, the WWE has worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant the heartfelt wishes of children who wish to attend a WWE event or meet its Superstars.
WWE and the Make-A-Wish Foundation recently granted the wishes of thirty-four children, culminating in a star-filled experience hosted by WWE during the weekend of WrestleMania XXVII in Atlanta next April. The children met WWE Superstars and participated in a weekend full of activities, including attending WrestleMania.
Chi Omega
In November 2000, Chi Omega Fraternity named the Make-A-Wish Foundation as its national charity. Since the program’s inception, Chi Omega has raised more than $5.5 million for local Make-A-Wish® chapters. With the assistance of more than 37,000 Chi Omegas, Make-A-Wish chapters have received over 360,900 volunteered hours being conducted through various ways; assisting with local fundraisers, serving as interns and hosting wish granting celebrations to name a few.
We are proud of our partnership with our local Chi Omega chapters at the University of Delaware, George Mason University, American University and George Washington University.
Allergan
Allergan became a sponsor of the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Spring 2009 promoting the launch of LATISSE® Wishes, a charitable public awareness campaign to help make wishes come true.
To date, Allergan has donated more than $1 million to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation grant the wishes of more than 135 children. Allergan is excited to extend its support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation with the LATISSE® Wishes Challenge campaign to help raise more than a quarter of a million dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Brooks Brothers
In 2007, Brooks Brothers established the Golden Fleece Foundation a nonprofit organization that will provide financial, developmental and logistical support to local and national charities involved in health issues, the arts, and education. Brooks Brothers’ Golden Fleece Foundation is continues its support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation through an annual spring sales event.
CoverGirl
CoverGirl is an American cosmetics brand founded in 1909 in Maryland, by the Noxzema Chemical Company (later called Noxell) and acquired by Procter & Gamble in 1989. CoverGirl has supported the Foundation for the last three years through the sponsorship of four annual model wishes with a contribution of $40,000 each year. CoverGirl has now approached the Foundation to support our mission through a bigger relationship in honor of their 50th Anniversary in 2011.
The sponsorship expansion launched with a Facebook promotion this past January, to be followed by additional programming announced later in the year.
Maggiano’s Little Italy
Maggiano’s Little Italy began their alliance to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2004. Maggiano’s has reaffirmed their commitment to the Foundation by entering into a three-year contract, to continue to build on the success and momentum achieved since we started our alliance.
Maggiano’s Little Italy will host their annual Eat a Dish for Make-A-Wish campaign this Spring from May 5 – June 30. This campaign invites customers to enjoy select menu items – and $1 from the purchase price will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation! More than $16,000 was raised for our chapter last year.
