Gavin's wish to be a VIP guest at a Washington Capitals game

Eight-year-old Gavin of Potomac, Md. had his greatest wish granted  in April when he got to be a VIP guest at the Washington Capitals playoff qualifier game at the Verizon Center. Gavin and his family stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. and dined at McCormick and Schmick’s, but the highlight for Gavin was the special treatment he received at the game. Gavin watched the team warm up from the penalty box, enjoyed amazing seats during the game and even rode the Zamboni® while he was announced over the P.A. system and pictured on the JumboTron. According to Gavin, his favorite part by far was when he was brought onto the ice at the end of the game and was presented with a game-worn jersey from Nicklaus Backstrom – his favorite player. He had the opportunity to meet Nicklaus and have his picture taken with him, too.
