Cree from Rockville, MD, has had to endure more doctors' appointments and treatments by the age of five than many children will throughout their childhood. Cree was born with a genetic neurologic condition and throughout his life, he has survived both an open heart surgery and bladder surgery while also dealing with epilepsy and upper respiratory issues. Despite Cree’s medical challenges, he enjoys many of the same things as other young boys. In his free time, Cree loves being outside in the sunshine, riding in the car and listening to music – especially the song “If You’re Happy and You Know It.” When Cree found out that Make-A-Wish®
Mid-Atlantic would be bringing his one-true-wish to life, he was excited by the opportunity to go to the beach with his family.
Cree was ready for fun in the sun! He couldn’t wait to visit the beach with his family for the first time. Cree chose to go to the Beaches’ Turks and Caicos Resort so that his family could enjoy the added bonus of activities including a Sesame Street
show and the Italian Village. After returning from Turks and Caicos, Cree’s mom shared, “The trip to Turks and Caicos was a multi-layered dream we had for Cree. To finally see the ocean, feel the sand on the beach, travel internationally and have a ‘typical kid’ experience. The experience was AMAZING. Holding Cree in the ocean while he laughed and giggled, and watching him giggle while sitting in the sand – these memories will be with us always.”
