Eighteen-year-old Henry from Alexandria, VA, loves ice hockey. He began playing when he was in kindergarten and even played defense for his high school team despite his on-going battle with cystic fibrosis. His love for ice hockey shows through his love for his favorite NHL team, the Washington Capitals. When Henry found out he would be receiving a wish from Make-A-Wish®
Mid-Atlantic, he knew immediately his wish would be to go to the Stanley Cup Championship!
Henry, his parents and his older brother traveled to Pittsburgh for game one of the Stanley Cup Championship. They were thrilled to watch the game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the San Jose Sharks up close! Henry shared that he had and “incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience” watching the Stanley Cup playoff game. Granting wishes like Henry’s inspires local children with life-threatening medical conditions, giving them hope, strength and joy.
