Fifteen-year-old Trey from Herndon, VA, is a typical teenage boy. He enjoys fishing, riding his bike, reading and watching television when he’s not in school or doing his homework. When Trey was diagnosed with leukemia, however, his life was turned upside down. Rather than spending the majority of his time at school and keeping up with his favorite hobbies, he began spending prolonged amounts of time at the hospital undergoing chemotherapy treatments. When Trey learned Make-A-Wish®
Mid-Atlantic would be granting his one true wish, he immediately wished to go on a cruise to the Caribbean.
Trey was thrilled to have the opportunity to take a relaxing vacation with his family. After a tough fight with leukemia, Trey was looking forward to spending time in the sun, sand and water. Trey’s wish experience was even better than he had expected. Not only did he spend ample time relaxing with his loved ones, but he also enjoyed jet skiing, swimming with dolphins, parasailing, snorkeling and more!
Trey’s wish allowed him to focus on a relaxing vacation with his family and feeling like a normal teenager again rather than his fight against cancer. Upon returning from Trey’s wish trip, his parents shared, “This trip was literally his wish come true. It is hard to really pinpoint Trey's favorite parts of his trip because there were so many, and he had experiences that he has never had before. There is not one thing we would change about this Make-A-Wish experience. Thank you for bringing so much happiness to Trey.”
