Like many teenagers, 17-year-old Briauna from Washington, DC, enjoys cooking, dancing and playing video games in her free time. After being diagnosed with end stage kidney disease, Briauna learned she would need to undergo a kidney transplant. Suddenly, she began spending more time in the hospital than she did keeping up with her hobbies and hanging out with her friends. Upon learning Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic would be granting her one true wish, Briauna wished to have a rose gold Macbook!
Briauna was extremely excited to have a rose gold Macbook, because, as she shared, she’s been wanting one for as long as she can remember. She was looking forward to using it play games and complete homework assignments. Upon receiving her brand new Macbook, Briauna was ecstatic! Not only was she excited to have her very own computer, but she also loved it because it matched her cell phone. After many months spent in and out of the hospital, Briauna was thrilled to have her wish come true.
Briauna’s wish gave her something to look forward to other than doctor appointments and medical procedures to treat her illness. Granting wishes like Briauna’s provides hope, strength and joy to local children battling life-threatening medical conditions when they need it most.
