Ten-year-old Eli from Upper Marlboro, MD, has loved Legos ever since he received them as a Christmas present at age four. Eli, who bravely battles a hematologic disorder, wishes he could have all of the Legos in the world. He and his brothers enjoy building Lego structures all over the house, but they inevitably have to deconstruct them to save space. When Eli found out he would be receiving a wish from Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic, he wished for a backyard Lego playhouse so he could play and store all of his Legos!
Eli was excited to start his day at Toys “R” Us, where he received a VIP birthday celebration. He enjoyed going on a Lego shopping spree and finding all kinds of new sets for him and his brothers to build. When he arrived back home, Eli was thrilled to find his very own backyard Lego playhouse full of additional Lego sets! A few weeks after Eli received his playhouse, his parents said “we cannot keep Eli in the house” because he “spends all of his time in the playhouse.”
Wishes like Eli’s enhance the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
