Like many teenagers, 14-year-old Isaiah from Baltimore, MD, enjoys playing video games, watching movies and hanging out with his friends in his free time. However, unlike many of his peers, Isaiah is also tasked with managing an autoimmune disease. Despite his battle with his medical condition, he continues to keep a positive outlook on life, and those who know Isaiah describe him as a “funny, engaging young man.” Isaiah has long loved shopping, so when he found out he would be receiving a wish from Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic, he immediately knew his wish – to have a shopping spree.
Upon learning he would be enjoying a shopping spree at Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Isaiah had one thing on his mind – shoes! At the Nike store, Isaiah not only fulfilled his dream of picking out new sneakers, but he was also treated to new clothing as well. Next, Isaiah decided to stop by GameStop due to his love of video games. He was surprised by a welcome sign in the window as well as memorabilia from the Seattle Seahawks – Isaiah’s favorite football team. During his shopping spree, Isaiah also enjoyed stops at Walmart, Old Navy and Medieval Times.
Isaiah’s wish gave him a day that focused on him and his favorite things, providing him with a welcome break from thoughts of doctor’s appointments and treatment plans. Throughout the course of his wish day, Isaiah’s mom even shared that he was “all smiles.”
