Five-year-old Julian from Washington, DC, adores learning about dinosaurs, building with Legos and playing outside. He is very bright for his age and loves talking about anything related to science and nature. Despite bravely battling cancer, Julian remains excited and animated whenever he gets the chance to learn about something that interests him. When Julian found out that Make-A-Wish®
Mid-Atlantic would be granting his one true wish, he wished to go to Hawaii to see a real volcano!
When asked what his one true wish would entail, Julian exclaimed, “I want to see a volcano explode!” Due to his love for nature, the environment, animals and of course, volcanoes, he couldn’t wait for his wish trip to Hawaii. When the time came for Julian’s family to go to Hawaii, the wish trip turned out to be even more memorable and exciting than they had hoped. Julian’s family was able to take a helicopter ride that gave them a view of the entire island, including the lava Julian had been looking forward to seeing. Julian and his older brother even got to try zip lining while in Hawaii!
When asked what his favorite part of his wish was, Julian excitedly reported, “The lava!” Julian’s wish trip provided his family with lifelong memories that they will cherish forever. Granting wishes like Julian’s allows children to have something to look forward to when they need it most, enriching their lives with hope, strength and joy.
