For ten-year-old Mason Bronner, it was a dream come true: his very own superhero movie, premiering at the Uptown Theater in Northwest Washington. On Wednesday night, Mason arrived at the theater to a crowd of screaming fans. He walked the red carpet, and received high fives and hugs every step of the way. But in order to understand just how special this moment really is, you must understand what Mason has been through.

Eye On Annapolis
Severna Park High School, led by the Leadership 2 students, raised over $25,000 for Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic this month. Severna Park’s Leadership Institute is widely known for their dedication and drive to make a change and unite the community around them through service learning. Each of the past 5 years, the SPHS Leadership Institute has partnered with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic to support local children.

Mason Bronner is like most superhero-obsessed fourth graders. He lives with his mom Brooke, his dad Phillip, and his brother and sister in Cleveland Park. The Georgetown Day School student loves Batman, just saw Avengers: Endgame in theaters, and says his favorite super villain is the Joker.

A D.C. boy's dream to produce and direct his own movie has come true — and he's only 10 years old. Mason Bronner put his imagination to work to create an entire world of characters and stories while he spent countless hours battling leukemia at Children's National.

A dream trip came true for a young girl from Falls Church because of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Mid-Atlantic chapter. Three-year-old Kathryn had a bone marrow transplant last year and wished to go to the Walt Disney World Resort. Earlier this year, she headed to Orlando to meet in person some of her favorite characters from the Disney Junior network.

Russian Machine Never Breaks
