Make A Wish Teen TJ Onwuanibe to Announce Ravens' First-Round Pick


A Maryland teenager will get to live out a dream Thursday when he helps the Baltimore Ravens with their draft. TJ Onwuanibe, 14, an eighth-grader who was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, is scheduled to announce the Ravens' first-round pick as part of Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, the team confirmed Saturday night. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who usually does that honor, will present a jersey to the team's pick.

A young fan's wish to announce a Baltimore Ravens NFL draft pick will come true next week. According to CSN Mid-Atlantic, T.J. Onwuanibe was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015. Through Make-A-Wish, he requested the opportunity to declare a Ravens draft pick. On Friday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh informed Onwuanibe via video that his wish had been granted. Onwuanibe will do the honors of reporting the No. 16 overall pick in Philadelphia on Thursday night.

Maryland Teen to Help Announce Ravens Draft Pick


WBAL-TV 11 News reported on T.J. Onwuanibe earlier this week when he organized a drive at McDonogh School to donate pajamas to terminally ill children. In February 2015, doctors diagnosed T.J. with a rare form of brain cancer. His cancer is now in remission, and on Friday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh helped Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic grant T.J.'s wish, which was announced Friday during a school assembly.

8th Grader Cancer Patient Granted Wish to Announce Raven's First Draft Pick

T.J., an eighth grader at McDonogh, who's currently undergoing treatment for brain cancer, got a big surprise Friday. He has a wish: to announce the Baltimore Ravens' first NFL Draft pick. Make-A-Wish responded Friday and they're sending him to Philadelphia. The wish reveal was extra special, including appearances from the Ravens cheerleaders and Poe. Head coach John Harbaugh said he's thrilled to have T.J. in Philly next Thursday.

Callum, a 6-year-old from Chestnut Hill Cove, found out that he is going to Disney World. He is looking forward to riding the rides and meeting his favorite characters: Pluto and Iron Man.

Alex Ovechkin Delivers Pizza to Shocked Capitals Fans

Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin delivered something other than goals, assists and wins as he teamed up with Papa John's to be a rookie delivery driver. It was part of Papa John's "Ovechkin Wish Special" that the chain ran. Customers who ordered the special on Friday were entered in a sweepstakes to have the All-Star personally deliver their pizza while $1 from each order went to Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic.
