Local wish kid, 14-year-old Isaiah, celebrated the granting of his wish to have a shopping spree on Saturday, September 3. Diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Isaiah’s wish come true was a welcomed break from thoughts of upcoming doctor’s appointments or treatment plans.

The Lakers Signed a Make-A-Wish Recipient With Cancer to a Contract


Before the Lakers’ Sunday night game against the Charlotte Hornets, Yitzi Teichman was ceremonially signed to a one-day contract with the Los Angeles basketball team. The 18-year-old is a cancer patient from Baltimore who was brought to the Lakers by Make-A-Wish. He signed with the franchise during a pregame press conference with general manager, Mitch Kupchak, in front of local media.

WISH GRANTED: Eden's Unicorn Wish Comes True in DC


Eden, a 5-year-old girl from Upper Marlboro, MD, spent the last year fighting brain cancer. FOX5 DC teamed up with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic to make Eden's Unicorn Wish a reality. Eden and her family traveled around Washington, DC all day in a limousine escorted by the Secret Service, carrying her along the route of a scavenger hunt. But it was at the end of her journey that the moment she had been waiting for finally arrived - a beautiful white unicorn just for her.

Make-A-Wish Creates Katy Perry Music Video for Five-Year-Old Girl


Addy, a girl diagnosed with stage IV cancer, asked the foundation to be turned into a pop star -- specifically, Katy Perry. Her wish included starring in a music video for "Roar," the hit anthem off of the pop singer's Prism album. The foundation notes that the track helped Addy to stay strong and positive during her medical treatments.
