Thirteen-year-old Christian from Waldorf, MD, has always had a passion for creativity. From his love of drawing to his skills as a young pianist, he has always appreciated and enjoyed creating beautiful things. While Christian also enjoys playing video games, hanging out with his family, jumping on the trampoline, riding his bike and eating his favorite candy, nothing compares to his love to create. When diagnosed with leukemia in 2015, Christian channeled his creative spirit to get him through countless hours of treatments and time spent in the hospital. So when he learned that Make-A-Wish®
Mid-Atlantic would be granting his one true wish he became filled with excitement and creatively began brainstorming his most heartfelt wish! Christian creatively decided on his one true wish - to travel to New York City to see the sky scrapers and the city lit up at night and to eat a delicious hamburger!
Christian and his family took his favorite form of transportation, the Acela train, up to New York for a weekend full of fun with his loved ones. Christian’s wish was everything he hoped it would be and more, and the creative side of him was thrilled with all that New York City had to offer. Christian’s wish gave him something to hold on to and instilled him with hope, strength and joy when he needed it most.
