Four-year-old Trenten from Reisterstown, MD loves reading about the adventures of Clifford the Big Red Dog, eating at Wendy’s and cheering for his favorite football team, the Detroit Lions. Trenten also enjoys going to the park, playing basketball and hanging out with his dog, Corrinna. This is because Trenten can do all of these things with his family, and what he loves more than anything is spending time with his parents and his two older brothers. When Trenten was diagnosed with leukemia, the time he spent with loved ones became even more precious. After he found out that he would be receiving a wish from Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic, Trenten couldn’t wait to take a trip to the beach in California with his family.
Because Trenten loves reading about and playing with animals, he was excited to experience all of the wildlife in San Diego. He was particularly eager to see the big fish, turtles, sharks, whales and dolphins. Although Trenten knew he had to take a long plane ride to get to California, he couldn’t wait to play in the sun, sand and water with his family. Trenten loved his trip to the beach and enjoyed building sand castles, finding sea shells and swimming in the ocean.
Granting wishes like Trenten’s are incredibly important to children battling life-threatening medical conditions. Ever since viewing a picture of his parents in Hawaii, Trenten couldn’t stop talking about visiting the beach. Make-A-Wish
Mid-Atlantic helped give Trenten a week that focused on fun with his family and not on his illness, enriching the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
