Antonio is a musically talented 12-year-old from Washington D.C. who loves to play instruments. Since Antonio never had any instruments of his own, he often used a friend’s or his church’s instruments. However, after being diagnosed with leukemia and stuck in hospitals, he wasn’t able to travel to play music for a long time. When he found out his wish would be granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Mid Atlantic, he asked for none other than his very own band set. Antonio received an electric-blue Pearl drum set, a blue Fender bass guitar and blue lead guitar, a keyboard and three amps. Undoubtedly, his favorite color is blue! In addition, the Foundation surprised him with a laptop set up with recording software and digital keyboard.
Antonio’s parents, three siblings and grandfather came together for the wish party at his house where he was presented with all of his new instruments. Antonio showed off his talents by jamming on the guitar with his grandfather and brother. Antonio has not forgotten what it was like to not have his own instruments, so he gives back by sharing his instruments with his family and friends. His passion for music has gotten him through the hard times and has helped him get better as he is now in remission!
